WOOD CHARACTERISTICS:
Each piece of flooring is unique and will vary in grain pattern and color, while, structurally sound.
Wood is hygroscopic (attracts moisture from the air) and will slightly shrink and swell with changes in humidity. Small cracks between boards may appear in drier months.
FINISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Up close it is normal to see a small amount of irregularities in job site finished floors. It is difficult to create a “clean room” type setting as in cabinet and furniture finishing.
In spite of the term “hardwood”, wood flooring will dent under high heel pressure. Always keep high heels in good repair. Under normal conditions, high traffic areas such as kitchens, may need to be recoated in 3 to 5 years
